Project

Sav-Eco Packaging

As part of a renewable energy initiative, we successfully led the end-to-end execution of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between the Landlord and Tenant, ensuring a seamless commercial and contractual process from inception to completion. Our expertise extended beyond commercial arrangement – we also led the design, construction, and commissioning of this investment grade asset, delivering a turnkey solution.

Our strategic approach not only optimised energy performance but also ensured lasting value for all stakeholders, reinforcing our position as a trusted partner in sustainable energy solutions.

Challenges

The challenge was to optimise the solar PV system size for maximum electricity generation, savings, and CO2 reduction on a roof with 119 skylights.

The solar array design was also optimised to ensure that Tata’s, the roof sheet manufacturers, warranty requirements were met.

Additionally, on this new build site with a tight construction schedule the challenge was installing the solar PV system before the handover deadline, amidst competing priorities from other trades on a compact site.

Scope

  • PPA commercial negotiation and contract execution
  • Grid connection agreement and witness testing
  • Solar PV design, build and commissioning
  • 5 year operations and maintenance of the solar PV
  • Solar PV system performance guarantee

Innovations

  • Form 4 solar PV distribution board with an integrated communications panel.
  • Link looms span across skylights using GRP tubes, enabling the utilisation of roof space between the skylights.
  • Use of a Roxtec cable glanding system ensures secure, water-tight, and fire-resistant cable entry into the building.
  • Cable containment with coloured vinyl wrap to match building cladding.
