Project

Qualvis Print & Packaging

As part of Qualvis’s packaging sustainability continuous improvement initiative, we successfully managed the end-to-end execution of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between the Landlord and Tenant, overseeing the entire commercial and contractual process from inception to completion. We also designed, constructed, and commissioned this investment grade solar PV asset, delivering a turnkey solution.

The result is a high-performance renewable energy installation that drives sustainability and long-term operational benefits.

Challenges

The challenge was to maximize the solar PV system size for maximum electricity generation, savings, and CO2 reduction.

To extend the site Main LV Distribution Board to create extra points of connection for the solar PV and further site expansion with minimal site disruption.

To transform an unloved outdoor area between buildings into a covered, lockable, birdproof solar compound.

Scope

  • PPA commercial negotiation and contract execution
  • Grid connection agreement
  • Solar PV design, build and commissioning
  • Roof cut edge treatment
  • Fall protection system design and installation
  • 5 year operations and maintenance of the solar PV and annual recertification of fall protection system
  • Solar PV performance guarantee

Innovations

  • Use of Staging Boards to form temporary walkways on the roof during construction protecting the roof from a high volume of foot traffic.
  • Use of Weidmüller PV-STICK connectors to make string end connections on the roof, ensuring connector mating compatibility.
  • Sika Single Ply Membrane Roofing System to waterproof solar compound, ensuring long life.
